Professional Development Workshops

Connect the Dots New York provides a variety of workshops for anyone who is interested in increasing their knowledge and improving their ability to work more effectively with children, families and colleagues.

All materials are provided. Workshops are eligible for CDA hours and required annual state hours.

Each participant will receive a certificate with the OCFS topics area and hours completed.

This workshop is a unique opportunity to walk away with proven strategies and techniques

that you can begin implementing immediately

 

The first half of this 4-hour course will provide the participants with knowledge of how to examine a child’s behavior in order to gain a deeper understanding of the root causes. The second half will present unique strategies for the prevention of challenging behavior as well as proven techniques for confronting challenging behavior in preschoolers. Each participant will receive a certificate for 4 hours of OCFS approved content area 1 & 3 training.

Good problem solving skills are fundamentally important for success in life. Children with effective social/emotional problem solving skills display greater success in school both academically and socially. This workshop provides participants with effective, innovative and practical strategies and tools for teaching young children how to best problem solve social/emotional situations. Participants will learn how to use specific instructional techniques for teaching preschool and kindergarten aged children conflict resolution, self-calming techniques, self-regulation and effective appropriate peer interaction. Each participant will receive a certificate for 2 hours of OCFS approved content area 1 training.

Professional Development Training Workshop Refund Policy

 

Policy for Individuals Attending a Connect the Dots New York Event:

Refunds less a $25.00 cancellation fee per participant will be given for cancellations received in writing to connectthedotsny@gmail.com two weeks prior to the event. Following this date, no refunds will be given, but a credit will be issued to use towards another event within one year.

Policy for Center Based Sponsored Training Event:

50% of the total cost of the training fee will be assessed for cancellations within 1 month of the scheduled event. A $50.00 cancellation fee will be assessed for cancellations received in writing to connectthedotsny@gmail.com prior to 1 month of the scheduled event.

 

If Connect the Dots New York cancels the event a full refund will be sent via check to registrants or center within 7 days of the cancellation.
