ACEs & Nurturing Resilience

in Early Childhood Settings

This course delivers training to fulfill the new OCFS required competency topic area #10 - related

to adverse childhood experiences, focused on understanding trauma and on nurturing resilience.

This interactive training explores adverse childhood experiences to gain deeper understanding of the effects of

trauma on a child. Practical strategies for nurturing resiliency in children are introduced. Experiences in early

childhood are the foundational building blocks for development, learning, and health throughout a person’s lifetime. Trauma can have long-term effects on the well-being and functioning for children, families, and our community.

Informed knowledge about ACEs can help early childhood education professionals better understand a child’s

behavior. This is a critical time in the child’s life as early interventions are the most impactful on a child’s well-being.

Currently, this course is being delivered via the Zoom platform.
